New OpenGL renderer
#1
The new OpenGL is comming, will this affect the emulators rendering speed, or it does not matter, since the cpu is doing all the main work.

So....Why developers of emulator can't use Mantle API for emulator?

I don't think they should implement any new APIs until emulator is fully functional (spurs etc.)

its only been announced that they are working on it, it will take years before its finished, so its just a speculation for the future.

OpenGL is good enough and works on everything. Additional performance is probably not relevant, I mean my mediocre mobile GPU is always in it's low power state of 200 mhz and with very low GPU usage when running anything in rpcs3.

If someone decides to work on Mantle or whatever, it is certainly not for performance reasons, but because it could make development easier.
Asus N55SF, i7-2670QM (~2,8 ghz under typical load), GeForce GT 555M (only OpenGL)
