Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection - ULUS10560
Following some suggestions in this thread, I have my video settings setup so that the only things checked are:
  • Use vertice cache
  • Use shaders (experimental)
  • Use a Geometry Shader for 2D rendering (only relevant when using shaders)
  • Enable saving GE screen to Textures instead of Memory
  • Enable decoding of indexed Textures (using CLUT) in shader (only revelant when using shaders)
  • Enable dynamic shader generation (only relevant when using shaders, reccommended for AMD/ATI)

I found that with these settings the boss shatter turns into a black screen but takes far less time (maybe 10 sec or less) to transition into battle than it did before - dropping to 15 fps instead of 9 or less. Thunder spells still take a bit if it's multiple enemies but not too bad.

Thanks for a good thread ya'll!
