Small update (don't know whether to edit or just post a new post):
Apparantly this problem is exclusive to my computer. When I coped the emulator (and Xuggle since it seems the emulator needs it) to my laptop, there aren't any problems and the game will load...only that the framerate is appalling and sound doesn't work.
Java's been a pain before (e.g. on Minecraft)...maybe it's time to reinstall it?
