PS2PSXe Preview Release
#1
ps2
ffgriever the creator of ESR released a Public Preview of PS2PSXe, which is a PS1-Emulator for the PS2 and should be able to run PS1-Images from all devices (CD/DVD, HOST/LAN, HDD).

This is the first Homebrew-PS1-Emulator released for the PS2.

This is a Preview-Version and before a Beta-Test-Version is released, bug-reports are of no importance.

It's not sure yet, if this is compatible to backward-compatible PS3s and it is also not sure, if it ever will be.

Even if it is only a Preview and not a Beta with all the newest coded stuff, I think it is worth a news-post.
Spread the news and share the info.

Emunewz comment: Well talk about strange emulation attempts. This one is really a work of art. Why strange? For starters regular PS2s have the psx hardware built-in BUT even the real hardware can sometimes suck! This kick-ass project emulates psx hardware using the powerful ps2 emotion engine. This means that being a homebrew application, the emulator can also use ps2 peripherals like network and hdd. Games can now be stored on: internal hdd or network (using the ps2 network kit), usb devices even dvd discs. This is only a preview release with command line GUI. Hopefully we will soon have the means to play psx games on ps2 the way they were meant to be played Big Grin
