I have an idea on why this game doesn't go any further. Part of me thinks it hangs due to trophy issues. Here's what it does on RPCS3:

1. Detects a bunch of SPU functions.

2. Suddenly hangs with no errors or crashes.

Two other games do the exact same thing - The Ratchet and Clank trilogy, and The Last of Us (on the GCM build). Both games were confirmed to hang due to issues regarding trophies.

I would post a log, but I'm out of town right now.
