Really nice! But could you post that log file on http://pastebin.com/ instead? So that it doesn't take up so much space here.

Yeah, you can press edit on your post and do that even now.

Now: wow! I got to the video, which plays, with sound, for about 2 seconds before it hangs Smile (Note: Nekotekinas branch)

The really good news is that this game probably uses the same engine as Disgaea 3, 4, D2, and many other games that NIS made with similar graphics. So if this game goes this far...

There is this in the log:

W : PPU[1] Thread (CPUThread)[0x015e5028]]: cellAdec warning: cellAdecClose(handle=197)
[E : Audio Decoder[197] Thread]: adecRead(): sequence error (task 3)
[E : Audio Decoder[197] Thread]: adecRead: 0x0FD0 header not found
[E : Audio Decoder[197] Thread]: adecRead: 0x0FD0 header not found
[E : Audio Decoder[197] Thread]: adecRead: 0x0FD0 header not found

...

[E : Audio Decoder[197] Thread]: adecRead(): sequence error (task 3)
[E : Audio Decoder[197] Thread]: adecRead(): sequence error (task 3)
[E : Audio Decoder[197] Thread]: adecRead(): sequence error (task 3)

Damn, I can't skip the video, there is just a loop of "[E : Audio Decoder[197] Thread]: adecRead(): sequence error (task 3)". So close though!

Also, note that you pretty much have to disable log output in the emulator. The log file is over 150 mb (!) after letting it run for a bit, and it causes the emulator to not render sometimes if you display it. Thread 197 which causes the emulator to loop can't be paused properly.

Upon further inspection: I commented out the "adecRead(): sequence error" error (which helps since it literally spams 100 mb of it in a few seconds otherwise). What I think happens now is that:

* Audio thread still loops forever obviously
* Video decoding still runs, but gsframe doesn't update because:
* RSX Thread loops forever, possibly something is wrong on cpu thread as well:

Quote:[E : RSXThread]: TODO: cellGcmSetZcullStatsEnable(0x1)
[E : PPU[1] Thread (CPUThread)[0x015d704c]]: TODO: cellSyncQueuePush
[E : PPU[1] Thread (CPUThread)[0x0027da28]]: Unknown syscall: 175 - 000000af
[E : PPU[1] Thread (CPUThread)[0x015d7034]]: TODO: cellSyncQueueSize
[E : PPU[1] Thread (CPUThread)[0x015d7040]]: TODO: cellSyncQueuePop
[E : RSXThread]: TODO: unknown/illegal method [0x0000eb00](0x1)
[E : RSXThread]: NV4097_GET_REPORT: bad type 2
[E : RSXThread]: NV4097_GET_REPORT: bad type 3
[E : PPU[1] Thread (CPUThread)[0x003ce070]]: TODO: cellGcmGetReport
[E : PPU[1] Thread (CPUThread)[0x003ce070]]: TODO: cellGcmGetReport

* The video still plays I think, if you wait long enough you get new messages. The last error is:

[E : Audio Decoder[197] Thread]: adecRead: 0x0FD0 header not found

After this nothing seems to happen anymore.

Nekotekinas 1169fcd098b? If you disable all log output the video plays a bit smoother. Shouldn't be that way of course, but it is.

Ok, tested now. It plays a bit further than it did yesterday. But eventually hangs after 10 seconds or so when the audio thread (but with another run it was callback thread...) writes 0xfe00 to null block... Disgaea 3 does the same thing with the same value interestingly...

There is also this:
