Star Ocean : The Last Hope - International

Unfortunately a null audio will almost always crash RPCS3 ...

What sound card are you using? To find out, right click the volume indicator in Windows, select playback devices and see tell us what your default is (Marked with a green checkmark).

Also, does other games with sound work for you? Such as Scogger HD?

I'm using a Logitech USB Headset. It's the default audio device in my rig.
Unfortunately, I only have Star Ocean and Artonelico Qoga.. and between them, only Star Ocean has managed to throw the OpenAL error.
This is why I'm so curious on what will happen if this issue is resolved since the frame is already updated with FPS.

Will try that Scogger game later when I have the time Smile

Thanks ssshadow.

I am just guessing here, but you could always unplug your USB headset, so that internal audio gets used, and see if that works. Maybe I am completely wrong here, but I do maybe remember that some game a very long time ago had openal issues with a USB headset.

Scogger is a free homebrew, the download link is on the first page of the thread about it. Just run the .elf directly with boot -> (s)elf.

Now, if you do get audio over USB in Scogger, and still get errors in this game with normal internal audio, it is definitely an error with this game. Not much you can do other than waiting for bug fixes.

The emulator is unfinished and runs a single simple 2D game, Star Ocean will not work.

Test using CI build from this pull request :
Code:
E {PPU[0x100001d] Thread () [0x0028b888]} sceNpTrophy: sceNpTrophyRegisterContext(context=0x1, handle=0x1, statusCb=*0xe80d50, arg=*0x215ca520, options=0x1)

The game will get stuck in "Installing Trophy Data" dialog at 99%.

I'm wondering what the progress on this game is since I don't think I've seen it anywhere on the status list, specifically BLUS30462. Anyone tested yet?
