Wondering how jpcsp invokes SonicStage
#1
psp
Though there's a mono_atrac3+.exe program that can help decode mono at3 file, I think it a little bit inconvenient.

So, if we change the external decoder that jpcsp links to, we will have the sound forge as a decoderSmile
(maybe some people have discussed about that)
Sooo, how jpcsp invokes SS? Just want to know that.

Jpcsp uses a custom himdrender to communicate with the Sonic Stage codecs (openMG,SonyWavWriter), as for Sound Forge it costs money (no free version, so messing with it is out of the question) besides for that there is no known way to manually connect the codec pins so all files need to be loaded within the soundforge program making it difficult to save or playback the files (mono_atrac3+.exe just plays the file inside of soundforge and closes the file when its done).

another possible way is to convert the mono to stereo but there is also no known way to do this

or just wait for hykem to finish reverse engineering the format and implement it into the emulator, making sonicstage, himdrenderer and other assist tools needless.

Only after he has figured out how to make encrypted SAVEDATA saves fully interchangeable between JPCSP and real PSP. Big Grin

Oh sure we can convert the mono into stereo using Sound Forge, DNRiper and a renamer. Yet it's a big task and may need a lot of time.
