About compiler and freezes
#1
Hi all,

Im really impressed with the emulator so far. FF7CC and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep look and play well.

I've read the "JPCSP for dummies" thread and also some game specific threads about FF7CC and KH. There is always the hint to use the "Maximum method size" of 50 or 100.
My default was 3000. But with that I get really fast freezes midgame.
With 50 or 100 I couldn't see characters in the cutscenes of FF7CC so I changed it to 1000. Now it takes longer for a freeze.

Sometimes the console gives the "out of memory" error, sometimes nothing. Also I have no idea wich XMS value I should choose or if I need to config something in my java settings.

Are these freezes related to my poor configuration or is it normal to expect freezes everytime I cant save? Or should I start using save states because I need to calculate freezes in. I know the emu isn't perfect but I don't know all the issues.

Further informations:
My rig:
i7 2600 (3.4GHz)
GTX550i
16GB RAM
Win7 64 Bit

Emulator version: r2914 64bit

Java: 64 bit, should be updated
