ok, this is major. when i updated to r1800 and played using only the above options, apparently the game crashes at one point in the starting dungeon. also, when i used the geometry shader option, graphics are lost at one point of a battle and im not sure if it was a bug or whatnot. might be my file or something, i need someone to check. i used the two-handed sword as opposed to one-handed sword used for r1799.
