They help a few games run better yes. Not that rpcs3 runs anything meaningful at this point in time.

You also need to obtain them through a CFW PS3.

Which modules do you recommend to turn on in this stage of the emulator?

The main ones are probably cellSre and cellSpursJq.
But depending on the game, you might also need cellSail, cellFiber or others.
