Frankly, I was rather thinking to completely delete this option. Is there any real need for it? The "PBP Unpacker" tool also seems to provide options to edit SFO files.
You can choose to remove the option "Unpack PBP on load" if you like. I just found it unusual that JPCSP only covered one way (unpack PBP) and not the other (repack PBP) which was why I brought up the proposed option. Does "PBP Unpacker" extract every type of PBP file? Are there any cases where the program has failed to extract files from the PBP or failed to repack files back into a PBP?

While we are on the subject of options, the following options currently don't work:
- "Extract original PGD files to TMP folder" (as mentioned here and probably broken because of revision e8ca352)
- "Save snapshot..."
- "Load snapshot..."

Should I delete these options as well? snapshots never worked under all situations (only in very limited cases).
I'm hoping that you at least fix the option "Extract original PGD files to TMP folder" since it allows users to conveniently translate the decrypted PGD files that the emulator extracted from the game. As for the snapshots option, you can probably delete it (unless you have an idea of how to better implement the concept of savestates into JPCSP).
